Govt working to bring uniformity in education system: PM ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the National Education Policy Framework (NEPF) is being devised to bring uniformity in existing fragmented apartheid system of education. He vowed that the objective is to create a nation and to put in place a system which is ‘fair’ and ‘produces Pakistanis’. He chaired a briefing on NEPF here at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Wednesday. The briefing was attended by Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood, Punjab Education Minister Murad Rass, Adviser Education KP Ziaullah Bangash, federal and provincial secretaries for education and senior officers. The Minister for Federal Education & Professional Training gave a detailed presentation on the National Education Policy Framework identifying various challenges vis-a-vie out of school children, education apartheid, quality of education and skill development issues. The United States has chosen the wrong path in reimposing sanctions on Iran and will be defeated, Iranian President Hassan Rowhani said on Wednesday, according to the Tasnim news agency. Kabul to hand over SP's Tahir Khan Dawar boy today because Afghan authorities have decided to carry out a post-Mortem on a police officer kidnapped in Islamabad, his body will be handed over to Pakistani officials on Thursday, according to sources. SP Tahir Khan Dawar, who was Chief of Peshawar police's rural circle, was kidnapped in the G-10/4 Area of Islamabad on October 26 and a body said to be his was found in Afghan province of Nangarhar.

Govt School teachers quit due to non-payment of salaries. By Amjad Iqbal TAXILA: Teaching Staff for students in the second shift at the Government Girls High School Burhan, Hasanabdal, have quit after being denied salaries for the last 18 months.  the second shift teaching staff at the school consisted of four teachers and a head teacher who taught about 100 girls. A student of the 9th grade, Fatima Bibi told Dawn that she comes to the school in the evening and that there are 30 other girls in her class. She said all the students in the second shift particularly come from low income families and cannot afford private school. A student of the 10th grade, Shazia, said they have not a had any classes the last two weeks because the teaching staff left. we had dreamy of a new Pakistan where our children will get education but now even the existing facilities are being discontinued and the future is uncertain, said a parent, Sultan Mehmood.  He said families cannot send their girls
